I'm new to the blog and also to Acumatica, so just learning how it all works. I'm using 2018R2
I'm trying to add a parameter to my dashboard so that I can apply it across all widgets, however, once I put the parameter in I'm having 2 issues:
1. I can no longer press the Design button on the top to add widgets.
2. If I try to add the widgets first and then insert the parameter, the system erases the widgets that I had already added. Are you supposed to be able to add parameters after you have already created your widgets?
Can you advise what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks - Amy
What build are you using?
I just tried adding a parameter to the PARAMETERS tab on the Dashboards (SM208600) screen for a Dashboard that already has a bunch of Widgets and it didn't wipe out the Dashboard.
And I can also access the DESIGN button without any problem. Are you in the Owner Role that's defined for the Dashboard?
Hi Tim,
I am learning how is working the Dashboards, but I am having some questions about it, could you please help me? I have an existing Dashboard DB000018 ,but I would like to add new widgets but using parameters, I would like to add as parameter Date, User and the widgets I already finished it and they are working with share filters but when I configure the Parameters into the Dashboard it doesn’t appear there and I don’t know why.
These are the steps that I did.
In My GI
In the GI, I have the parameter and the share filters that I use in the Dashboard
And My Dashboard
But I don’t know why the parameters doesn’t appear as in the Generic Inquiry in the Top in order to change the values.
Could you please help me?
Thank you
Paola
Ah, two different parameters: Generic Inquiry parameters (which you're talking about) and Dashboard parameters (which I'm talking about).
I'm not aware of a way to show Generic Inquiry parameters on a Dashboard.
But you can create Dashboard parameters. You then feed those parameter values to the Dashboard Widgets in the filters button on each Widget.
