Permissions for teams?
We are having an issue with permissions. We want sales people to log into the system to make quotes, and not change Sales orders, and other items. Is there a way they can be limited?
Also, we would like people to be involved in accumatica at work, and not bring their work home because of company policy, how could you limit their time in the system?
I've definitely heard that request before, but I don't know of a clean solution. It's the disadvantage of Acumatica using the same screen for both Sales Orders and Quotes. User Security is by Screen and by Field, it isn't really "dynamic" depending on the data in a field. For that you could use the Automation Steps (SM205000) screen, but I don't know how to get it to "see" the user that is logged in.
For the second question, I'm not sure how to limit logins to certain times of the day, but you might be able to effectively accomplish the same thing by only allowing access from the IP Addresses used at work. You can do that on the Users (SM201010) screen:
